Lucknow, April 10, 2025 – The dazzling world of Bhojpuri cinema and its behind-the-scenes talent were honored at the grand 6th Saras Salil Bhojpuri Cine Awards 2025, held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. It was a memorable evening for all, where Bhojpuri film stars, makers, and crews came together to celebrate their remarkable contributions to the industry.
Arvind Akela 'Kallu' won the Best Actor Award for his performance in Kasme Vaade, while Anjana Singh took home the Best Actress Award for her role in Badki Didi. The Best Film Awards went to Hindustani (produced by Vijay Kumar Yadav) and Suryavansham (produced by Nishant Ujjwal). Rajneesh Mishra was awarded Best Director for Suryavansham. The awards were received with loud applause and deep appreciation for the stories and talents that powered this year's films.
The spotlight wasn’t only on the winners. Dignitaries such as Brijesh Pathak, Deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh; Sandeep Bansal, Member of All India Udyog Vyapar Mandal; Prabhunath Rai, Member of All India Bhojpuri Samaj; Mukesh Bahadur Singh, President of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Lucknow; Pawan Singh Chauhan, President of SR Group of Education and Legislative Council Member; Rajesh Rai of the Information Department; Surendra Singh Rajput, National Spokesperson of Congress; and Anita Sehgal, anchor and actress, added grace to the event with their presence.
What made this award night truly special was the focus on the often-overlooked backstage work. Editors, set designers, lighting crew, writers, and background score artists were also brought on stage for real appreciation.
This year's awards featured more than 50 categories, recognizing excellence in acting, directing, writing, music, production design, editing, and more. In addition to the main awards, special honors were also presented, including the Lifetime Achievement Award to Vijay Khare, who has had a decades-long impact on Bhojpuri cinema.

The first edition of the Saras Salil Bhojpuri Cine Awards was held in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, at the Badshah Marriage Hall. The event was graced by Bhojpuri cinema's superstar Ravi Kishan, along with other prominent figures like Arvind Akela Kallu, Shubham Tiwari, Vimal Pandey, Kajal Raghavani, Ritu Singh, and Kanak Yadav. Brijesh Tripathi, known for acting in the most Bhojpuri films, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
2021: The Second Award Function
The second edition took place in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, at the Forever Lawn. Thousands of fans gathered to cheer for their favorite stars, including Dineshlal Yadav 'Nirahua', Pradeep Pandey 'Chintu', Amrapali Dubey, and Sanjay Pandey. Performances by Sanjana Silk, Anjali Singh, Divakar Dwivedi, Antara Singh 'Priyanka', Kavita Yadav, and Vimal Pandey lit up the stage. The event was hosted by Shubham Tiwari and Dr. Mahi Khan, and received high praise from Harish Dwivedi, the then MP of Basti.
2022: The Third Award Function
The third edition returned to Basti, hosted at the Balaji Prakash Hotel. Esteemed personalities like Arvind Akela Kallu, Yamini Singh, Samar Singh, Kavita Yadav, Anoop Tiwari, Sanjay Pandey, Rohit Singh 'Matru', Pramod Shastri, Shubham Tiwari, and Vinod Mishra were awarded. Tarkeshwar Mishra 'Rahi' was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to Bhojpuri cinema. The event was further enlivened by dance performances by Arvind Akela Kallu, Yamini Singh, Samar Singh, and Kavita Yadav.
2023: The Fourth Award Function
The fourth edition was held in Ayodhya at the Forever Lawn on the Ayodhya Mahotsav Stage. Despite the chilly weather, the audience's enthusiasm warmed the atmosphere. Stars like Pradeep Pandey 'Chintu', Amrapali Dubey, Vinod Mishra, Anupama Yadav, Anara Gupta, Gunjan Singh, Mahima Gupta, and Zoya Khan elevated the event's grandeur. Pradeep Pandey 'Chintu' stole the show with his dance performance, inviting co-stars like Anara Gupta, Zoya Khan, Mahima Gupta, Srishti Pathak, Anupama Yadav, and Mamta Raut to join him on stage.
2024: The Fifth Award Function
The fifth edition returned to Ayodhya, welcoming Bhojpuri stars once again. The event saw the presence of Dineshlal Yadav 'Nirahua', Amrapali Dubey, Dev Singh, Anjana Singh, Mahi Khan, Vimal Pandey, Pakhi Hegde, Ambarish Singh, Raksha Gupta, Dhamma Verma, KK Goswami, CP Bhatt, Aryan Babu, and Ayushi Mishra, among others. Kunal Singh, often referred to as the "Amitabh Bachchan of Bhojpuri Cinema," was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The hosting duties were expertly handled by Vimal Pandey and Dr. Mahi Khan.
